In the Hanging Garden

Femininity and masculinity entwine in the form of textile sculptures, both fragile and powerful. Heavy lace, a lace made out of ropes creates pieces discussing femininity as a mask, a performative feature assigned towards women by oppressive structures of cultural, political and social fields. These masks are woven out of rope and hanged on the wall as separate from ourselves, empty vessels of hidden anxieties and expectations.
